About
Almost thirty years a student. Thirteen years a teacher.
As a busy primary school teacher and then a lecturer, I felt the enormous benefits of a regular practice: creating time and space to focus, the meditative quality of moving through familiar sequences, breathing deeply. After sixteen years as a practitioner I trained as a teacher with Yoga Alliance, building a strong foundation in asana and pranayama, and later deepened that with children's yoga study through Rainbow Kids.
I bring a clear, methodical, evidence-informed approach to teaching. I still love Ashtanga-inspired vinyasa flow; through the pandemic I came to love slower, deeper yin, and that now runs through my Flow and Restore classes. I'm passionate about bringing yoga to children, young people and families, and I believe yoga really is for every body, so my classes are inclusive, with modifications and adaptations to make postures accessible to all.
In 2026 I left a long career in primary and university education; the time feels right to devote more of it to teaching yoga. I'm also training to be a celebrant. Otherwise you'll find me reading, walking the Ayrshire seaside and countryside, at the theatre, or with family and friend-family.

Good questions.
Where are your classes?
Classes are at St Nicholas Church Hall in Prestwick or Flourish EQ in Sandgate, Ayr; some are online. Get directions to Prestwick or to Ayr.
How do I pay?
Payment isn't taken through this site — you'll pay Jennifer directly. Ask her when you book if you're not sure what works best.
I'm a complete beginner — are your classes suitable for me?
Yes. I strive to make classes accessible to all, and I encourage you to work within your current capabilities and level of fitness. Ashtanga-inspired classes suit those with a reasonable level of physical fitness; Flow and Restore and Yin suit every level of experience.
What do I need to wear?
Stretchy, breathable clothing that allows free movement. Avoid anything too loose that may shift during class (Lycra is your friend!). We practise in bare feet.
What should I bring to class?
A yoga mat, a blanket for relaxation, and an open mind. We use props in Flow and Restore and in Yin — for Yin, bring yoga blocks too if you have them. If you don't have yoga props, you can adapt what you have at home.
Is yoga suitable if I have injuries or health conditions?
In most cases, yes, but always consult your healthcare provider first. Let me know about any injuries so I can offer modifications.
Do I have to book online? Can I just drop in?
It's usually possible to drop in to the in-person classes, though booking is recommended. Prior booking for the online classes is necessary.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a refund or credit; within 24 hours, no refund or credit.
