Privacy notice
How I look after your details.
This page says what this website collects about you, why, who else handles it, how long I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Who I am
I'm Jennifer Ellis. I teach yoga at St Nicholas Church Hall in Prestwick, at Flourish EQ on the Sandgate in Ayr, and online. This website is mine, and I'm the person responsible for any personal information it collects. If you have a question about anything on this page, email me at [email protected].
When you book a class
The booking form asks for your name, your email address and, if you want to add one, a short message. The ticket you chose is added to that message. I need your name and email to hold your place and to send you a confirmation (which, for an online class, may include the link to join). The message is there for a question, or for anything about accessibility you would like me to know before you come. Please don't put details about your health in it; if there is something about your health I should know, tell me at the class.
Your booking is stored in the website's database so the class list is right and I can see who is coming. If the booking system can't be reached when you press the button, the site opens your own email app instead, with the same details written into a message to me, and in that case nothing is stored on the site.
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form doesn't send anything from this website. When you press "Send enquiry", it opens your own email app with your name, your email address, the class you're interested in and your message already typed into an email addressed to [email protected]. Nothing is sent or stored until you choose to send that email, and it then sits in my inbox like any other email. My email address is a Hotmail one, so Microsoft handles the delivery and storage of that mail.
Why I'm allowed to use it
UK data protection law needs a reason for using personal information. Mine are: performing the booking you asked for (I can't hold or confirm a place without your name and email), and my legitimate interest in running my classes (knowing who is coming, contacting you if a class changes, and keeping the class list accurate).
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the database the bookings are stored in. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees the address of the connection your visit comes from.
- Resend sends the confirmation email. To do that it is given your name, your email address, and the class, date and venue you booked.
- Google Fonts. The two typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's servers, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads, as it would on any site that uses Google Fonts.
I don't sell your details, I don't share them with anyone else, and I don't use them for advertising.
How long I keep it
Bookings are deleted twelve months after the date of the class. Enquiries are emails, and are kept in my email account in the same way as any other correspondence; email me if you would like one deleted.
To slow down anyone making repeated attempts, the site also keeps a count of booking attempts, and of sign-in attempts on my calendar page, against the address of the connection they came from. Each count is kept for up to an hour after the last attempt and then discarded.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct anything that is wrong, and ask me to delete it. Email me at [email protected] and I'll reply. If you think I've handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The public pages of this site set no cookies and use no analytics or tracking, and nothing is stored in your browser's local storage. The one exception is the calendar page I use to manage classes: it sets a single login cookie, and only in my own browser when I sign in.
Changes
If I change this notice I'll update the date at the top of the page.
